CEDSA believes that children are our future and the future of EDS. Our children have the right to a proper education without barriers. Who knows? With the proper education maybe one of them will find the cure for Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. The education section of our website is divided into two sections, public/private schools and homeschooling.
The public and private schools section will contain information on the proper methods of working with schools and how EDS affects the students in school. This section will explain all about IEPs (Individualized Education Program), Section 504, and the federal laws that apply to both of these programs. There will be information in this section for both the families and the school’s staffs.
Homeschool programs are not forgotten either. We will explain how to develop IEP plans. There will be a wealth of links and discount codes for different programs as well. Not all the links will be just for homeschooling. Some will be good for those students that need intervention help for public/private schooling.
Both areas will have access to the adaptive technology section that discusses all kinds of different devices and how they are beneficial to those with EDS. Also, we offer advocacy for all types of school programs. If you feel you need our advocacy services, please complete the intake form and we will contact you as soon as possible. Our advocacy service has to be prioritized according to needs, but we will try to address each individual’s needs as fast as possible and not to leave anyone without help.
